Project Members

Project members are users who have access to a specific project. Unlike workspace members, project-level members can only access the project they are added to, not other projects in the same workspace.

When to use project members

Use project-level members when you need finer access control. For example, if you have a workspace with multiple projects but want a contractor to only see one specific project, add them as a project member rather than a workspace member.

Inviting members

  1. Open the project and navigate to its member settings.
  2. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
  3. Click Invite. The person receives an email with a link to join.

Once they accept, they can access this project but not other projects in the workspace (unless they are also a workspace member or added to those projects separately).

Roles

Each project member has an owner, editor, or viewerrole that determines what they can do with the project's documents. You can change a member's role at any time from the member list. See Project Permissions for a full breakdown of what each role can do.

Removing members

From the member list, select the member you want to remove and confirm. They will lose access to the project immediately.

Leaving a project

Any project member can leave on their own, regardless of role. See Leaving a Project for details.

Permissions

Managing the member list itself, inviting, removing, or changing roles, is governed by the requester's workspace role rather than their project role. See Workspace Permissions for that breakdown.
