Publishing a Project
Publishing makes selected pages from a project available on a public site. You choose the publishing address, select which project pages should be live, then publish the changes immediately.
Before you publish
- You need permission to manage publishing for the workspace that contains the project.
- The project must contain at least one page that you want to make public.
- The project needs an active Project Publishing entitlement: the workspace's one-time publish trial or a paid publish slot.
Open publishing
- Open the workspace that contains the project.
- Go to the project you want to publish.
- Open the project's Publish page.
- Select the pages you want to make live. If prompted, start the workspace's one-time publish trial or add a paid publish slot, then use the current Publish action.
Set the publishing address
In Publishing address, choose where readers will open the live site. Use Subdomain to publish under the default site host, then enter a publish name using lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes. The publish name must be at least two characters.
To use your own hostname instead, see Custom Domains.
Choose pages
Use the Pages section to select the project pages that should be live. You can search for a page, select an individual page, select a folder to include its pages, select all pages, or clear the selection.
- Live marks pages that are already published.
- New marks pages that will be added to the public site.
- Updated marks pages with changes since the last publish.
- Will unpublish marks live pages that will be removed because they are no longer selected.
Publish changes
Review the selected pages in Ready to publish, then click Publish. Publishing updates the live site immediately; there is no separate draft or review step.
If the project is not live yet, you may be prompted to start the workspace's one-time publish trial or add a paid publish slot before the publish button becomes available.
Set a home page
After at least one page is live, the Home page section appears. Choose which published page should load when someone visits the publishing address directly. Only selected, published pages can be used as the home page.
Customize the site
Site settings also let you customize the public site name and icon. To apply a global stylesheet for colors, spacing, typography, layout, and other presentation details, see Custom CSS. Custom CSS is presentation-only and cannot load third-party resources or inject JavaScript/HTML.
