Workspaces
A Workspace is the top-level container in the product. It groups related projects together and controls who has access at the highest level. Every project belongs to exactly one workspace.
What a workspace contains
- One or more projects, each with their own documents
- A member list that controls who can access the workspace and its projects
- Workspace-level settings such as the title and archival state
Workspace vs. Project
A workspace is the broad container, think of it as a team or department. A project is a focused collection of documents within that workspace. Members added at the workspace level can access all projects inside it, while project-level members only have access to that specific project.
Roles and permissions
Each workspace member has a role, owner, admin, or a more limited role, that determines what they can do. Only the owner can remove members, delete projects, or transfer ownership. See Workspace Permissions for a full breakdown of what each role can do.
