Project Permissions
What a project member can do with a project's documents depends on their role. This page breaks down what each role is allowed to do.
Roles
- Owner - full control over the project's documents: can edit, create, import, move, and delete.
- Editor - can edit, create, import, and move documents, but can't delete them.
- Viewer - view-only access; can't edit, create, import, move, or delete documents.

Project vs. Workspace permissions
Project roles only control what a member can do with that project's documents. Adding or importing files and folders into an existing project follows the same project permission as creating documents, so owners and editors can do it while viewers cannot. Importing an entire project into a workspace is a separate workspace-level action. Actions like managing project members, transferring the project to another workspace, or deleting the project are also governed separately, by the requester's workspace role, not their project role. See Workspace Permissions for that breakdown.
